Day 1 Departure Nairobi to Masai Mara Game Reserve
Pick up early in the morning from Nairobi (airport or from your hotel) and you will start your long but scenic drive to the famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. You will arrive at Maasai Mara Game Reserve in the afternoon and check in at camp for hot lunch. After lunch and some rest, you will set out for an afternoon game drive in the Masai Mara in search of wildlife for the rest of the day until late afternoon when you will return to the camp/lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Zebra Plains Mara Camp. Lunch and dinner included.
Day 2 Maasai Mara Game Reserve Safari
Breakfast at the lodge/camp at Masai Mara then you will head out for a morning game drive in the most famous game reserve in Africa; Masai Mara Game Reserve. Masai Mara Game Reserve is famous for being home to many animals including Lions, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, leopards, antelopes like gazelles, impalas, topis, elands, hartebeests and many more. If you travel during the months of July to October; during the Great migration season, you may be lucky to see the river crossing when more than 1.5 million wildebeests accompanied by hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles in what has become the most extensive animal spectacle in the world. You will break for lunch and some rest, then go out again later in the afternoon until late afternoon when you will check in back at the lodge/camp for game drives and later campfire and overnight. Apart from traditional game drives in safari land cruisers, you also can go on a walking safari in Masai mara or visit the local Maasai Villages to learn more about their culture and traditions. As a supplement, you can also do the hot air balloon safari over the Masai Mara plains.
Day 3 Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park
This morning you will wake up early for breakfast then you will check bid farewell to camp/lodge staff and head out by road towards Isebania / Sirare Border where you will make a brief stop for visa processing to enter Tanzania. At the border on the Tanzania side (Sirare) you will change jeeps and proceed from here with a Tanzanian registered safari jeep and a safari guide from the Tanzania side according to the new laws.
You will drive through Nyamongo mining villages and Mugumu township towards the Serengeti National park accessing the park through Ikoma Gate or Fort Ikoma Ranger post depending on where your camp is located in the Serengeti. You will embark on your first game drive in the Serengeti straightaway in search of the many animals and birds that Serengeti has to offer. In the late afternoon, you will check in at a lodge/camp for dinner and overnight. Overnight at Pamoja Serengeti Camp at Serengeti or a Similar camp. All meals included.
Day 4-5 Serengeti National Park Safari
On this day you can go for an early morning sunset game drive. Enjoy a full day at Serengeti National Park. After breakfast, you will proceed to with a full-day game drive in the Serengeti. Serengeti National Park is where the Wildebeests Migration herds spend most of the time before they cross to Masai Mara for the few months between August and October. You will be guided by an experienced who will be in contact with other guides via VHF high-frequency radio, so he will be able to tell the best locations to see the wildebeests’ migration. Apart from the migration, Serengeti is home to other animals including elephants, leopards, zebras, giraffes, serval cats, jackals, hyenas, and warthogs, the list is endless. Serengeti also is home to more than 500 bird species recorded in the park. You will spend these two days enjoying magical moments as you crisscross the endless plains of the Serengeti doing game drives. Dinner and accommodation will be at the Pamoja Serengeti Camp. Day 6 Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast at your lodge or camp you will check out and go on your last game drives en route as you drive towards the Naabi Hills Gate where you will make a brief stop for registration to access the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCAA). You will then head to the Crater rim where you will check in a lodge for relaxation. You will spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing at your lodge or you may choose to go for a nature walk at the rim of Ngorongoro Crater. Overnight at the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. All meals included.
Day 7 Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
This day you will take a very early morning breakfast (or with packed breakfast) you and descend to the Ngorongoro Crater’s floor where you will spend the day doing game drives. The earlier you descend to the Ngorongoro Crater floor the better because you improve your chances of spotting animals like Black Rhinos and others as they avoid the morning dew and like lining up along the roads.
We will descend with a picnic lunch which will be served in the crater next to the hippo pool, where you will be able to stretch your feet and visit the washrooms. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the declared UNESCO-protected World Heritage Sites and the Ngorongoro forms part of an international biosphere reserve.
The crater is actually the largest unbroken caldera in the world; measuring approximately 300 sq km and about 21 km across. The Crater is a natural zoo and with 600 meters of walls, this world-famous wildlife area ensures that not many animals escape. Among the animals available here are black rhinos, lions, buffalos, elephants, cheetahs and various antelope species. You will continue with game drives on the Crater floor until later in the afternoon when you will ascend up the Crater rim, and then transfer to Arusha town where you will check in at a lodge for dinner and overnight. Overnight will be at Ilboru Safari Lodge. All meals included.
Day 8 Arusha – Amboseli National Park Safari
After a very early breakfast on this day, you will depart from Arusha and drive through the floor of the Great Rift Valley and via Arusha to the Namanga border where you will make a brief stop for passport stamping. After the short stop at the border, you will change the cars and take a Kenyan car again, then proceed to the Amboseli National Park.
You will arrive for lunch at your lodge/camp. After lunch and a little rest, you will go for an afternoon game drive until late afternoon; at sunset when you will retire back to the lodge for dinner. Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. All meals included.
Day 9 Full-day safari at Amboseli National Park
On this morning you can go for a morning game drive at dawn if you wish then return to the lodge for breakfast. You will then spend the rest of the day with game drives and can either go out with packed lunch if you want a picnic lunch or do morning and sunset game drives with a break at midday for lunch and relaxation at your lodge or camp. The best views of Mount Kilimanjaro can be enjoyed early in the morning and later in the afternoon. Amboseli National Park is home to the largest herds of elephants, buffalos, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes and many birds including colourful flamingos. Overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. All meals included.
Day 10 Amboseli – back to Nairobi
One last early morning game drive at the Amboseli National Park if you wish then after breakfast your safari guide will take you back to Nairobi where you will be dropped at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your international flight back home (depending on your departure time).
